Hillside’s Chautauqua Family Empowerment Program strives to enable families to provide a safe, stable, and permanent home for children in order to prevent the need to separate youth from their families and place them in foster or residential care. Hillside is committed to preserving and strengthening families and has a wealth of experience supporting caregiver relatives and developing lifetime natural support networks for children who are at risk of out-of-home placement.

About this Program

Hillside recognizes the complexity that exists for youth who are at risk of deeper penetration of the juvenile justice system, and their families. Our work across our system of care includes interventions that specifically support youth at all levels of juvenile justice system involvement, from pre-PINS through Re-Entry, including Non-Secure Detention and Raise the Age services. We know that intensive interventions earlier in the course of a young person’s journey will help them from moving too far down the pathway toward placement. As such, we offer these targeted services for youth and families/caregivers referred to the Chautauqua Family Empowerment Program:

  • Youth and Family Driven Planning
  • Proactive Safety Planning
  • Coordination and Collaboration
  • Parent Training
  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
