Hillside’s community-based Glow Family Support services offer parents and caregivers an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and advocacy skills, while empowering them to more effectively build upon their strengths and resources and meet their families’ needs.

About this Program

Glow Family Support helps parents/caregivers connect with other parents who have a child experiencing social, emotional, developmental, medical, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges in their home, school, placement, and/or community. Caregivers are encouraged to build natural supports and resources, And connecting with other parents/caregivers with similar needs can reduce the stress and stigma associated with raising a child with special challenges. Glow Family Support empowers parents and caregivers to enhance their abilities to meet their family’s needs. Education and knowledge equips families to identify their strengths, needs, and resources to thrive in their home and community. Hillside’s service also includes individual mentoring and skill development, empowerment and education groups, and advocacy support.

Eligibility

Serves families of children and youth ages birth to 21 years

This program is open to eligible residents of Chautauqua, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
