Hillside, one of the largest child-and-family-services organizations in the eastern United States, has announced an increase in the agency’s minimum pay rate to $17.50 per hour for all positions.

With this increase, which took effect October 7, Hillside has raised its minimum pay rate by 40 percent since 2021—the result of aggressive ongoing efforts to ensure the agency’s compensation better reflects the hard work, expertise, and community impact of Hillside’s 1,700-member workforce.

“Hillside’s commitment to investing in our employees is stronger than ever,” said Maria Cristalli, President & CEO. “Because our revenues are tied to rates set by our funders, our agency’s compensation journey must be gradual and ongoing. But we’ll keep advocating for increased funding, while working to improve pay and benefits each year. Our dedicated staff deserve nothing less.”

Additional compensation and benefits enhancements are being planned for implementation in the months to come, Cristalli said.

In addition to base pay, Hillside benefits include generous paid time off and 10 paid holidays annually, including Juneteenth; medical and dental insurance coverage options; Flexible Spending Accounts; a 403(b) retirement savings plan with employer match; and more.

Hillside employees work in locations across Central and Western New York state, and in Prince George’s County, Maryland, in a broad range of service areas including direct care, clinical and education. The agency’s residential treatment and community-based programs support the needs of nearly 9,000 children, adults and families every year.

Hillside is hiring for a wide range of positions in all service locations. For more information, visit www.hillside.com/careers.
