Two Hillside teams were recognized in the 2016 Greater Rochester Quality Council (GRQC) Team Excellence Awards, presented in an April 28 ceremony at Locust Hill Country Club.

  • The Gold Award, Not-For-Profit category, went to a project led by Deb Koehler (left), manager of Business Process for Hillside Service Solutions (HSS). The project successfully increased on-time completion rates of 14-day service requests received by the HSS facilities team.
  • The Silver GRQC Award was earned by Kelly Wilmot, director of Outpatient Services for Hillside Children’s Center. The process led to a significant decrease in billing discrepancies in Hillside’s Outpatient Program.

Both projects not only achieved their goals, but surpassed improvement targets and successfully sustained those improvements.

The Hillside teams recently earned Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which led the way in the GRQC selection process. Lean Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of the output of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in business and manufacturing processes.

An affiliate of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, GRQC seeks to recognize and learn from high-performing organizations to stimulate excellence in Rochester-area products and services.
