No matter how you celebrate, the holiday season is a time of traditions – and here at Hillside, we have a unique tradition of our own. The Special Santa program was launched over 50 years ago in acknowledgement of a simple truth: that no matter their circumstances, every child deserves to experience holiday joy – and your generosity can make that happen.
Every year, our employees create wish lists based on the interests and backgrounds of the most vulnerable youth we serve. A list of the most-requested items is featured on our Special Santa page, along with a list of community locations where presents can be dropped off. Many of those locations are local branches of KeyBank, our Presenting Sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.
With the hectic pace of the holidays, we’ve also made it easy to donate online – with 100 percent of your donation going directly to purchasing gifts for the children and families we serve.
Last year, more than 3,500 young people received gifts through this remarkable program, and the generosity of the communities served by Hillside. Whether this is your first year of support or you’re a longtime Special Santa, I hope you’ll give generously this year – and continue this wonderful tradition of spreading holiday joy.
