New York Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado visited Hillside’s Monroe Campus on Tuesday, March 19, as part of a daylong visit to Monroe County. Lt. Gov. Delgado met with agency leaders to learn more about the services and priorities of Hillside, one of the largest and most programmatically diverse human-services agencies in New York State.
In the hourlong morning visit, Lt. Gov. Delgado discussed Hillside’s ongoing work in the continuum of care that links 24/7 residential treatment services on four residential campuses with dozens of community-based programs that provide highly customized supports in behavioral health, workforce development, crisis counseling and more.
The visit also included a tour of a residential treatment unit and one of Hillside’s classrooms in the Andrews-Trahey school on the Monroe Campus. As a NYS-recognized 853 school district, Hillside operates five schools on its campuses that provide a full array of educational programs to youth in residential and day treatment settings.
Hillside leaders meet frequently with elected officials to discuss the evolving needs that must be addressed by child-and-family service providers, and to advocate for funding and supports that enable the ongoing fulfillment of those needs.
