Hillside’s Parents As Teachers (PAT) program is featured in a “Thriving Forward” podcast linked here which spotlights people involved in good works and projects in the Greater Rochester Area. Based on the principle that a parent is their child’s first teacher, our PAT program helps parents give their children the best possible start in life to increase school readiness and success for children of participating parents.

In the podcast interview, Hillside PAT program manager Alice McAdam describes the research-based, early childhood parent education and family support program with Rochester Regional Health (RRH) pediatrician Dr. Sarah Collins-McGowan. Alice is joined by PAT parents and advisory committee members Vanessa Lespier and Nicole Pope who offer personal insights on how the program has made a positive difference in their lives and those of their children.

Thanks go out to RRH for this honor and opportunity!
