Maria Cristalli, a 34-year Hillside veteran and the agency’s President and CEO since 2018, was named today as a finalist for Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s 40th annual ATHENA International Award, which honors professional female leaders who have demonstrated significant achievements in business, community service, and the advancement of women throughout the Greater Rochester region.

The internationally recognized ATHENA program was founded in 1982 in Lansing, Michigan, and today has more than 8,200+ recipients, spanning 500+ regions and representing 48 states and 11 countries. In addition to the ATHENA Award, the Greater Rochester Chamber recognizes deserving honorees with the ATHENA Young Professional Award; and the ATHENA Organizational Award, recognizing woman-owned or -led organizations.

In announcing this year’s finalists, Bob Duffy, President & CEO, Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, said, “This year’s 34 ATHENA finalists join the prestigious ranks of over 700 honorees over the past 40 years. Since its inception, we have been proud to honor women and women-led organizations in our community who embody the ATHENA leadership model and build a better region for us all—and this year’s finalists continue to raise the bar for what that looks like.”

The 34 finalists in all three award categories will be honored at a February 5 event at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. For details and to register, click here.
